On June 25, 2018 a short evening seminar for the youth club "Jewish Weekends" was held in Vilnius. The academic director of the International Yiddish Center at the World Jewish Congress, Dr. Mordechay Yushkovsky, arrived there in order to familiarize the young generation of Lithuanian Jewry (university students and people of the same age) with the Yiddish language and culture, as well as Ashkenazi spiritual heritage.

The event reached its goal: the audience listened to the lecturer very attentively and overwhelmed him with innumerable questions.

Such meeting for the Jewish youth was the first one but not the last, as the WJC YC representative and the "Jewish Weekends" leader Yefim Hiterer agreed to hold seminars for further familiarization with Yiddish culture on the regular basis.
